Community Partners

The well known African adage “it takes a village to raise a child” extends to our work as well. It takes the commitment, vigilance, creative ideas and coordination of an entire community to eradicate the violence hidden behind closed doors.

Transition House’s mission to end domestic violence in our community can only be accomplished in true collaboration with many others. Our longstanding community ties multiply the impact of our work and the resources available to our clients. We work in close collaboration with community based nonprofit organizations in Cambridge and Great Boston, City and State departments and service providers, law enforcement experts, health care practitioners and individual professionals who offer legal help, mental health support, financial guidance and technical assistance to our organization and our clients.
