There are other ways to help Transition House. Here are a few suggestions. We welcome new and creative ideas!
Sponsor our Green Door Campaign
Transition House is committed to achieving our mission with an emphasis on organizational and environmental sustainability. With our Green Door campaign, we’re raising $100,000 to upgrade our Shelter’s kitchen and ADA accessible bathroom with sustainable materials that will keep our guests comfortable for years to come. Contact us at 617-868-1650 to learn more.
Host a house party to benefit Transition House
Transition House supporter Linda Martindale hosts an annual party at her home and asks guests to make a donation to Transition House. Here's what motivates her:
"I believe that women should help other women. It's really as simple as that. I also believe that a small gesture of kindness can go a very long way. I am very lucky to have friends that are articulate, strong and empowered women that want to help others. I wish there was more that I could do to help girls and women believe in themselves."
Her parties raise over $1500 and directly benefit the families we serve. Our heartfelt thanks to Linda and her friends!
Please contact us if you are interested in hosting an event to benefit Transition House, or if you have creative ideas to help our organization. We can provide materials or a speaker to provide information for your guests. Email info@transitionhouse.org or call: 617-868-1650.
Do you own a pickup truck, moving van, or large SUV?
We are looking for help picking up and moving household items (such as a bed or refrigerator) once or twice a month. If you own a vehicle and are willing to donate a few hours of your time, our families would greatly appreciate the help. Please contact us at 617-868-1650 to learn more about this opportunity.
Shop at igive.com
Transition House participates in igive.com, an online shopping site where you can designate us as the recipient of a portion of the amount you spend on purchases. It doesn’t cost you a thing.
Donate cell phones
We collaborate with Shelter Alliance, an organization that facilitates cell phone recycling. Here’s how it works: you send or bring us your used cell phones, we send them to Shelter Alliance and they send us a donation based on the value of each phone. Older models are safely recycled; new models may be refurbished and distributed to domestic violence agencies. You can collect cell phones for us in your own community. Call our office at 617-868-1650 for more information.
