Become a Volunteer! Transition House has always relied on dedicated and hard-working volunteers to help operate our shelter and assist with programs. Today we have many dedicated volunteers and provide a volunteer training three times a year. Volunteers work in many areas including: the 24-hour hotline, Children's Services, Transitional Living Program, Administration, Information Technology, public speaking, fundraising and more. Check below for a list of current volunteer needs. Volunteers are expected to make a commitment to Transition House for six months, 2 to 3 hours per week. Also we do require that our volunteers attend our domestic violence training before beginning any volunteer work at our shelter or on our hotline. Volunteers are welcome to volunteer in an administrative capacity without the full training. If you are unable to make the one-year commitment, we would be happy to put you on an email (or phone) list to contact when we need temporary assistance with projects. For more information, please email: coordinator@transitionhouse.org Current Volunteer Opportunities Board of Directors Transition House is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are foremost committed to the issue of Domestic Violence.
