Why Donate?

You can be apart of the solution! Invest in breaking the cycle of violence in our community. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, Transition House depends on contributions from people like you to sustain our work.

At Transition House, our work is never done. Our shelter advocates work around the clock helping individuals and families who are fleeing abusive relationships. Our community team works nonstop serving survivors through legal advocacy, housing search and counseling. Our operations team works tirelessly to ensure every program team has the tools and support they need to help our community. Our staff’s dedication and commitment is why we don’t back down when things get hard — and your support is imperative to keep us working to end domestic violence.

With your support, we provide the holistic services and resources families need to overcome violence and find a safe and stable home. Thank you for your support Transition House.

Our Commitment to Equity & Justice.

In June of 2020, Transition House made a public statement committing to “critical examination of our work from an anti-racist lens and staying in consistent and persistent dialogue with people of color in our agency and in our community.” We stand by our words and recognize that moving beyond superficial reform requires dedicated and focused time and attention. In alignment with that goal, we are thrilled to announce we have hired Shameka Gregory for the position of Director of Equity and Justice.

As Director of Equity and Justice, Shameka is working strategically to advance our mission to end domestic violence and strengthen our work through an anti-racist lens. Shameka is playing a leadership role at Transition House as we examine our responses to survivors of domestic violence and those who cause harm in relationships. While intentionally anti-racist, the equity lens includes all marginalized communities, including the LGBTQIA+ community and people of varying abilities.

We are proud to call the City of Cambridge a collaborator in this work, as partial funders for the position. To support us in our mission to continue critically examining our work from an anti-racist lens, use the button below.
